Kate Potter
RN, Grad.Dip(Hons) Advanced Nursing Practice, CCRN, Cert IV Teaching and Assessing
Kate is a highly skilled and experienced educator with a comprehensive clinical background in a wide variety of critical care and medical-surgical settings. Since completing her nurse training at a prestigious London Hospital Kate has undertaken post-graduate studies in Nursing Research and Clinical Education, successfully gaining a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing Practice from London University.
On her arrival in Australia Kate took up the position of NUM in a Critical Care Unit at The Alfred Hospital, remaining there for three years. Following this, Kate was employed as a Clinical Nurse Consultant within the Nursing Education Department of a large metropolitan hospital for over ten years. Within this roles she was responsible for developing and delivering a wide range of clinical and organisational education programs. She is currently the Education Manager at a private hospital in Melbourne where she continues to develop and deliver education programs, as well as lead and manage the education team.
In addition to her hospital based role, for many years Kate has provided education consultancy services for a range of organisations throughout the state, including AHPRA, ANMF and a number of Universities and TAFE institutions.
Kate is thoroughly committed to the development and promotion of nursing education, and in support of this was elected to the position of inaugural President of the ANMF Nurse Educators Special Interest Group.
