Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (incl. AED)
A must for all Nurses, Midwives, Paramedics, Nursing students and PCAs!
This four-hour course provides the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest and foreign-body airway obstruction (choking). Training is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council BLS guidelines and includes the use of bag-valve-mask systems and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). This course will provide CPR and AED skills for adult and paediatric patients. Competency assessment included.
Assessment: short quiz & demonstration of skills. Trainers are certified Australian Association of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) BLS/ALS instructors. Custom courses available. Contact us to discuss.

· Adult and paediatric Basic Life Support Flowchart/algorithm (DRSABCD) including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
· Assessment and management of each step
· Use of Bag-Valve-Mask ventilation systems and airway adjuncts

· Manikin practice: CPR skills & AED use
· Scenarios and role-play
· Assessment component
